MIX IT UP and Help Yourself!

I've been reading and writing a lot in recent weeks. I love learning, writing/sharing and it dawned on me how critical and necessary this is right now!

Recipe for Disaster!
The word “Hope” has been over used and I now hear it as a buzz word. You can hope for change, but hoping and waiting will not change your life.

The folks at www.Wikipedia.com define HOPE as, “Hope is a belief in a positive outcome related to events and circumstances in one's life. Hope is the feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best. [1] To hope is to wish for something with the expectation of the wish being fulfilled, a key condition in unrequited love. [2] Hopefulness is somewhat different from optimism in that hope is an emotional state, whereas optimism is a conclusion reached through a deliberate thought pattern that leads to a positive attitude.

When used in a religious context, hope carries a connotation of being aware of what Christians see as spiritual "truth"; see Hope (virtue). In Christian theology, hope is one of the three theological virtues (faith, hope, and charity), which are spiritual gifts of God. In contrast to the above, it is not a physical emotion but a spiritual grace. Hope is distinct from positive thinking, which refers to a therapeutic or systematic process used in psychology for reversing pessimism. The term false hope refers to a hope based entirely around a fantasy or an extremely unlikely outcome."

Recipe for Success!
People of all flavors are out of work suddenly and what to do with the extra time? Everyone feels completely out of sorts. Panic mode is horrible and after sending out thousands of resumes to companies that aren’t hiring or may not even be a float next week, you will hit a wall, slow down and realize that it’s best to take advantage of this free time! Get healthy, learn and share as much as you can.

Best Food For Thought!
Become a glutton for information and eat it all up! Read, write, share and don’t stop! Read books, magazines and search topics online! Sit in the library or BN until they lock up for the night. Write in a journal, download books to your ipod. Pick up that “pink newspaper” that has always looked so pretty, download that “weird” Eckhart Tolle book about living in the NOW or Suzanne Somers, Breakthrough to Wellness.

Get out the dictionary and use a new word each day. Find a free lecture on a topic or volunteer work. Go to a yoga or cooking class. Travel by yourself. Do, read and listen to something new to open your mind to ideas. Forget about what you love and know. Now is the time to learn about everything foreign to you which will innovate your life. Hoping and being positive is important, but it's not going make innovation happen. Become a “do-er” and a leader!

I like the word innovate and it's becoming vogue! I caught a great Marc Andreessen interview on Charlie Rose Show last week which may inspire you to trade in the word hope for innovate!

www.Wikipedia.com defines INNOVATION as: “The term innovation means a new way of doing something. It may refer to incremental, radical, and revolutionary changes in thinking, products, processes, or organizations. A distinction is typically made between Invention, an idea made manifest, and innovation, ideas applied successfully. (Mckeown 2008) In many fields, something new must be substantially different to be innovative, not an insignificant change, e.g., in the arts, economics, business and government policy. In economics the change must increase value, customer value, or producer value. The goal of innovation is positive change, to make someone or something better. Innovation leading to increased productivity is the fundamental source of increasing wealth in an economy.

Innovation is an important topic in the study of economics, business, technology, sociology, and engineering. Colloquially, the word "innovation" is often synonymous with the output of the process. However, economists tend to focus on the process itself, from the origination of an idea to its transformation into something useful, to its implementation; and on the system within which the process of innovation unfolds. Since innovation is also considered a major driver of the economy, especially when it leads to increasing productivity, the factors that lead to innovation are also considered to be critical to policy makers.

Those who are directly responsible for application of the innovation are often called pioneers in their field, whether they are individuals or organizations.”

Pass the Taste Test!
My world these days consists of watching shows like Charlie Rose, 24, 90210, Food Network and Meet the Press. To name a few, I have been reading and downloading books like, The 4-Hour Work Week, The Secret, Juicing Bible, The Four Agreements and Twitter for Dummies. In the past 3 months, I have also read 10 books on nutrition/eating programs, started a blog, somehow rounded up a following on Twitter and I’m eating a raw food diet.
